—
WHY PARTICIPATE?
[confictura.norma.x] I. offers a sustained context for saxophonists and quartets seeking to develop performance through rigorous inquiry, practice-led experimentation, and international exchange.
The residency provides:
– An extended development period rather than a single short-term workshop
– Four online seminars followed by an on-site residency
– Direct exchange among soloists, quartets, peers, and mentors
– A structured progression from artistic articulation to experimentation, realization, and public presentation
– Time for listening, analysis, rehearsal, testing, documentation, and reflection
– A framework in which embodied and ensemble knowledge contributes to critical inquiry
– Engagement with SOURCE, SUBSTANCE, AND STRUCTURE
– The opportunity to present work at the seventh Bled Contemporary Music Week
– Participation in an international community of saxophone performers and researchers
– The possibility of forming lasting artistic and professional relationships
The program is intended for participants who seek not only to refine and present performance projects, but also to examine how saxophone practice is produced through relations among histories, bodies, breath, instruments, repertoires, technologies, institutions, spaces, collaborators, and publics.
